The turning point came in 1955 when the company was honoured with the prestigious Compasso D’Oro award during its second edition, a testament to its design excellence and enduring legacy in the world of glassmaking.

NasonMoretti glassmakers follow a traditional glassmaking process that has been refined over the years. The ingredients of Murano glass are high-quality silica sand which becomes a liquid at a high temperature and soda which allows the material to melt at lower temperatures. Other materials like lime and various metal oxides and minerals are continuously experimented with and added to influence the glass’s colour and properties. NasonMoretti uses multiple furnaces to handle different types of glass and colours simultaneously. For them to create vibrant colours they add specific metal oxides to the molten glass. The skilful master glassblowers then use a hollow blowpipe to gather the molten glass from the furnace, they blow into the pipe to form a bubble which can then be shaped using tools, moulds and hand movements. Their glassmaking process is made entirely by hand therefore each piece is unique and can vary in colour, shape and pattern which makes every creation one of a kind. Murano glass is also recyclable, it can be remelted and modelled any number of times without compromising its properties.
